Re: [tech4all] Difference between Notepad and Laptop

"They are both the same. Just different words for one
thing.."

actually not. there is a subtle difference between the
two that is not well known, and often ppl use them
interchangeably.

quote from
http://hardware.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=05/05/11/169242&tid=184&tid=196&tid=137

"Notebooks and laptops are not the same thing and this
is a perfect illustration of the distinction.

A laptop is a computer you put on your lap.

A notebook is a computer with a screen that folds down
over the keyboard (with a form factor like a paper
notebook, hence the name).

A laptop may or may not have a folding screen (the
earliest models didn't). A notebook may or may not be
"lappable" - i.e. it may or may not be small enough,
cool enough or light enough to hold on your lap.

A 19" notebook is a portable PC, but I wouldn't call
it a laptop. There's nothing wrong with this category
of machine, IMO - I personally keep my notebook on my
coffee table 99% of the time, and only carry it with
me to a place (in other words, I don't have a need to
bust it out in-transit on a train or a bus, I take it
out on a corresponding desk or table somewhere else).

Laptops are perfectly fine if you want a real
go-anywhere computer. But this is not a laptop, and
not everybody needs that amount of portability. Some
people just need a machine to act as a desktop most of
the time, but that still doesn't take up a lot of
space and can be moved around easily when needed."

moreover to confuse us all there are the tablet pcs
which might or might not have a keyboard.. and now
laptops are becoming so small, they will soon start
blurring the lines between PDA's and laptops

Hope this helps :)

one thing is clear, .net applications can run on microsoft OSes only.
as far as job requirement are concerened, i hv seen the demand for
both technologies. which one is better is an endless debate and most
of the views u c are mostly biased depending on ones liking.

Re: [tech4all] hello!!!!

Hi Sucheta,

What project you want to do will decide the feasibility of the language. Decide the field of the project, which best describes your two years of M tech. I strictly feel if you do want you are best at, you need not worry market. Market needs innovation and if you can do that it does not require in which language you do market will happily accept it.

If you are confused about. the abilities of particular language then i suggest you to go for something which is easier to start with. One more thing if you are erally good at fundamentals you will never have to worry about. the language. Just get your fundamentals right and rest will be just as easy as eating a cake(mind well preparation takes more effort).

If you are looking for n/w related project then go for grid computing, load balancing, MPI, scatter search (search according to the groups), dataminning, push-pull technology, streaming servers, clustering and the list goes on.

Let me know your interest and i will send you across the topic.suggestion is free service.

[tech4all] Net searching while being paid

Hi everyone,

We all being technical persons are really interested searching new stuffs and ideas and internet has always been a boon for us. More, enhanced by powerful search engines getting a new stuff in the net has been reduced to a minuscule task at hand. Recently I got an ad that there are sites which pay you if you search from their home sites. I never knew for the things like this but registered there and found that it contains all the powerful search engines in itself and you can search through any engine you want. It ranges from google, yahoo, aol, askjeeves, dictionaries, encyclopedias and many more. If this pays to us in that way then that is an added advantage for us techies. So i want to pass on this information to all of you here. One thing is that you can also earn by giving reference. If you want you can use my referral link while registering, which is given below

http://netbux.org/?r=194793

I would like you all to once visit the site and give me your response, if the system works cause i am also pretty new to all these concepts.

regards,

Saroj

Pls check whether the Harddisk is partition in the
first place. If not, you have to partition the hard
disk first to get what you want it to be .  Otherwise
it will show as a new disk.
