Hi all,
 
   I got the issues fixed, for the first issue the problem was in device manager the driver for the DVD drive the transfer mode was ' PIP Only ' This should be ' Ultra DMA mode ' . So just uninstalled the driver and installed it again and restarted the system, it worked fine.
 
For the second issue where the volume was low while writing, the problem was the volume settings was defaulted to 33% . Just changed it to 100% and it worked fine. So if any one have the issue I had , try my fix.

    My DVD drive was working fine a month back, when I write data DVDs at 16x with 4GBs of data, it used to complete within 10 mins of time, I haven't written any DVDs for a while, when I was writing a DVD today , it almost took 55 mins to complete one disk and that too after writing the disk, it does not read at all. I see the DVD blank after I open it.
 
    In the case of writing DVD video file, I see all the when I open up the video for writing in nero vision , the video always asks for a DVD9 instead of DVD5. It never used to ask like this when I write a DVD video before. For this as well, it takes around 55 mins to complete writing excluding the encoding time. After writing and when I play the disk in my DVD player or my computer the voice is very very low. I remember not installing anything new software in my system
 
I have LG SecureDisc DVD writer, I don't remember the model number ,
My operating system is windows XP with sp2, processor core2 due 2.2 GHz, RAM 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2  and hard disk is 250 GB sata. and ny the way my DVD writer is IDE connected.
 
Any help would be really appreciated
