Hi,
Modern Ethernet cards starting from 1 Gb/s standard can detect the cable type on a hardware level. So it is possible to connect the laptop with a PC by the normal LAN cable if you have them both equipped with a modern LAN cards.

Hi all,
Can anybody tell me that is there a difference between a LAN cable and a cross cable?. I have a lan cable to connect to internet, can I used the same to connect PC and a laptop and copy datas?
