Not really sure what you are asking, but a couple of topics I think could
be big in the future are -

Cellular Automata

Natural language processing (I am not sure this is the correct word, where
you get a computer to read primary literature for you to find, for
example, genes assosiated with cancer, or proteins assosiated with each
other.
