[tech4all] Tech: What does 1x in CD-ROM,DVD Means?
Hi,
We all are speaking about CR-Drive read/write speads
like 40x,52x etc...
Whether any one thought of what does the '1x' means?
Here it is, While a 1x CD-ROM drive has a maximum data
rate of only 150 KBps, a 1x DVD-ROM drive can transfer
data at 1,250 KBps, which is just over the speed of an
8x CD-ROM drive.
so, 52x CD-Drive read speed = 150 * 52 = 7800 KBps
[Kilo Bytes per second].
But , a 52x CD-Drive can't really read at the
specified 52x speed! why? Answer in next mail....
and, Do u know why 1x speed of CD and DVD is
different? ...answer in next mail....
